Original Bid
The availabilty of the Walk to Work grant ties in really well with our Wellbeing Wednesday on May 16th as part of Learning at Work Week. We are also working towards our Olympic challenge event in June which is a walk, run or cycle between our hospital sites, so this will be a useful warm-up event. On this day we will be encouraging as many staff as possible from all departments and professions to walk to work for a minimum of the Wednesday and for the whole week where possible. We have six sites across the boroughs of Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich and will have a check-in point on each site. We will interview staff on arrival to publicise the initiative and will provide participating staff with a footcare pack on arrival.
Post Event Feedback
We had banners up on all sites and promoted the initiative through global communications and during Learning at Work Day on the Thursday 16th May.
We asked staff to send their stories of walking to work to the communications team and those doing so would receive a Walk to Work T-shirt.
The footcare packs we are using during our Olympic Challenge event as prizes on June 17th.
Staff may walk to work at any one of our six sites - Princess Royal University Hospital Farnborough, Beckenham Beacon, Orpington Hospital, Queen Mary's Sidcup, Erith Hospital or Queen Elizabeth Woolwich.
