Increase in levels of cycling to school. Reduction in obesity. Increased awareness of the environmental and health benefits of cycling. Demonstrating the benefits of cycling to a wider community at both local and regional level.. This was highlighted by the achievement of the London Transport Award this year for Cycling Improvement
Currently unknown. The intention in the future is to look at the annual Travel Survey conducted by the School Travel Officer.
NHS Tower Hamlets funds a Sustrans Bike It programme across a minimum of 12 schools each year in the borough. The aim is to get cycling more ingrained in school culture and also encourage parents and carers to get involved.

A spin off has been the Bike It U can 2 project which engages with parents to get them out and about on bikes and address their fears and concerns about cycling for both them and their children.
